Newcastle have confirmed the signing of Ewen Jaouen.

The goalkeeper joins on a 18.5m deal from Reims, and completed his medical yesterday.

On his signing, Jaouen told the club's website: Im really excited to become a Newcastle United player.

When I visited the training ground, I could see how passionate everyone is about the club and the work they do, and I loved the environment straight away. I also had the chance to see the stadium and its huge.

Ive heard so much about the supporters and how they are the best in the country. The passion of the entire city and the atmosphere at St James Park are famous throughout football, and I cant wait to experience that for myself and become a true Geordie.

As a goalkeeper, I enjoy one on one situations and playing as a modern keeper, building from the back and being comfortable with the ball at my feet. Now I want to develop alongside the amazing players and staff here, enjoy my football, and prove my value on the pitch.

Chelsea have released four players, all of whom came through their academy - including Michael Olise's brother.

Richard Olise signed for Chelsea's U9s a decade ago and while he did not make a first team appearance, he was named in the first-team squad for a Conference League trip to Astana during the 2024/25 season.

While he is looking for a new club, his brother - who plays at Bayern Munich - was recently linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Another footballing sibling, Sam Rak-Sakyi - brother of Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi - is also being released by the Blues.

He made four first team appearances in the Conference League campaign, making his debut against Noah.

Defender Brodi Hughes will also leave Chelsea after 13 years. He spent last season on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

Finnish international Jimi Tauriainen departs too, who also made a handful of first team appearances.

Elsewhere, striker Ronnie Stutter will move to a month-to-month contract with the Blues.

Stephen Welsh has ended his long association with Celtic by joining Swansea on a permanent transfer.

The 26-year-old came through the Hoops academy and made 70 appearances for his boyhood club after making his debut in 2020 but has been unable to fully establish himself at Parkhead.

After Welsh spent the past season on loan at Motherwell, Celtic agreed to terminate his contract a year early in order to give him the chance of a fresh start elsewhere.

The centre-back has now landed a two-year deal at Swansea with the option of an additional 12 months.

I am delighted to be joining Swansea, its a big club with a proud history, he told the Championship clubs website.

They made it clear that they really wanted me, and with the way the head coach spoke about the club, the environment he wants to create and the way he wants to play, it was a no-brainer.

The Championship is a brilliant division, and one I am excited to be playing my football in and challenging myself in. I have experience but I am also young enough to be ready for a new opportunity and a new chapter in my career.
